Three became four, and a new home

It was a sunny day and my first session since lockdown. To say I was a bit excited about this day would be an understatement!

There's something magical about returning to photograph a family that has grown a new member. Mum and Dad were super tired after countless nights of broken sleep, so it felt like even more of a privilege to be let into their lives.

Also, this lovely family had just moved house, so I knew that the photographs would become a record of how the house looked before renovations started.

When she saw the photographs, Mum said that she knew she would value these images in years to come, because they will remind her of how tired she felt. And that's the power of documentary photography - to help you remember exactly how a time in your life felt.
